TO GOD BE THE GLORY
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
Even before He created you, He chose to show His love toward you, through His sacrifice on the cross, and through His Word. Here are some very simple steps to understanding salvation and becoming a Christian believer.
Denying our state of sinfulness is like saying we have no need of salvation. But the fact is, everyone sins. To receive salvation we need to understand this, and admit that we are sinners, before we can go any further.
Roman 3:23
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”
Romans 3:10-12
“As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one’.”
Furthermore, there are consequences for our sin. It is death. We all face physical death but anyone who is not a Christian believer when he/she dies, will die spiritually as well as physically and be eternally separated from God.
Romans 6:23a
“The wages of sin is death . . . ”
It’s also important to know that we can not earn salvation based on our own merits. We can not be good enough, or smart enough, or kind enough, or religious enough. We are not only sinners, but we fall short of the standard God requires.
When Jesus died on the cross and rose again, He paid the full penalty for your sins and the sins of every person, living, dead, and even yet unborn. The only condition for receiving His provision is that we believe that He did this for us, according to His Word. Yes, He did it because He loves us, and because we couldn’t meet God’s requirement for adequate payment for our sins.
John 3:16 King James Version (KJV)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Romans 5:8
“God demonstrated His love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
God’s word leads us to believe in Jesus Christ as God’s Son and accept Jesus’ gift of forgiveness for our sins. Along with God’s forgiveness, we will receive God’s gift of eternal life.
Romans 6:23b
” . . . the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”
Share your experience with the people in your life or with anyone willing to listen so they may come to know Him too. Talking about it proves you believe it.
Romans 10:9-10
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:13
“Whosoever will call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 5:1
“Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 8:1
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Would you like to receive Jesus Christ into your heart and become a Christian believer today? Maybe you need some help; a starting point, perhaps? Here’s an example of how a person could pray to receive salvation:
“Dear God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But because you love me so much, you sent your only Son Jesus Christ to take the punishment that I deserve. With your help, I place my faith and trust in You as my Savior and Lord. Please forgive me and come into my heart. With your help, I will live for you from this day forward. Thank You for saving me, and for offering me Your wonderful grace. Thank You also for the gift of eternal life! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!”
In themselves, these words will not save you. But praying in faith and believing on Jesus Christ, will!
John 1:12
“And as many as received Him, and believed in His name, to them He gave the power to become children of God.”
Romans 8:38-39
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
